The Hydrogen Education Foundation is pleased to announce the selection of the 2008-2009 Hydrogen Student Design Contest theme: Green Buildings with Hydrogen! Several Contest ideas were submitted over the past few months, and after a careful judging process, HEF staff has chosen a proposal that will focus on designing a green dormatory utilizing a hydrogen system for electricity supply at the State University of New York - Farmingdale, but will be applicable for other locations.
Students will be challenged to design an energy efficient reidential building for students at SUNY-Farmingdale, located on Long Island, NY. The designs must include use of renewable resources to produce hydrogen for energy supply of the dorm. Students will also be asked to develop a marketing campaign for the University to help educate students about the building as well as gain public attention for the new construction.
